The Grand Pantheum Suite

Luigi de’ Francesi and part of nothing less than the ancient Terme Neroniane, requested by emperor Nero in 62 AD. In addition to these two columns, two more were discovered and inserted in the vestibule of the Pantheon to replace two missing columns in 1666, and the pink granite column found in 1875 under the Salita de 'Crescenzi and placed in 1896 in front of the Breccia di Porta Pia. At number 8 you will find the 16th century Palazzo Melchiorri Aldobrandini, which later became the property of the Municipality. At the end of the 19th century they decided to have the back of the building cut off to isolate the Pantheon.
