The Grand Monti

Located in the Monti district, in via del Boschetto, the dwelling consists of 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (1 double bedroom with en suite bathroom, a bedroom with two single beds and en suite bathroom and a third single bedroom next to the third bathroom) large living room with dining area and kitchen to complete the whole a panoramic terrace on the floor above.

Monti hides some treasures: Santa Maria Maggiore, one of the four papal basilicas of Rome on whose construction hovers a legend: the night of August 4, 358 AD. Our Lady appeared to Pope Liberius in a dream asking him to build a church. The next morning, a snowfall in the middle of summer whitened the Esquiline Hill, indicating where to build the basilica. Every year on August 5th, the re-enactment of the miracle of the snow is celebrated, a show worth attending.
Also worth a stop is the Basilica of San Pietro in Vincoli, where you can admire Michelangelo's Moses, sculpted for the mausoleum of Pope Julius II and finally the Church of Santi Domenico e Sisto whose main altar was designed by none other than Gian Lorenzo Bernini.
Monti is also rich in archaeological finds, such as the Forum of Nerva, third of the Imperial Forums, the Forum of Augustus, erected to celebrate the victory of Augustus over Brutus and Cassius, and the Scala Santa which, according to tradition, would be the 28 steps of white marble traveled by Christ to go to Pontius Pilate during the trial, brought here from Jerusalem by St. Helen, mother of the Emperor Constantine. In short, the Rione Monti is one of the most beautiful and full of history in all of Rome.
